Emerging from the depths of Athens, Greece, WOTHROSCH is an extreme metal band that delves into the darkest facets of the human condition. Their music is a fusion of black, death, and doom metal, characterized by a cold, emotive soundscape that reflects themes of despair, spirituality, and introspection. The band’s name, derived from the Greek word for “sewer” or “gutter,” symbolizes their exploration of society’s underbelly and the human psyche. ​

In January 2023, WOTHROSCH released their debut album, Odium, a cinematic journey through the abyss of human emotions. The album features collaborations with notable artists, including guest vocals by Niklas Kvarforth on the track “Mass.” Produced, mixed, and mastered by George Emmanuel, and adorned with artwork by Seth Siro Anton, Odium has been praised for its atmospheric depth and artistic vision. 

Beyond their musical endeavors, WOTHROSCH engages in multidisciplinary art projects. In January 2024, they hosted “Odium Magno,” a photo exhibition that visualized each track from their album through photography, accompanied by a forty-minute ambient composition. This initiative exemplifies their commitment to transcending traditional boundaries and offering immersive experiences to their audience. 

While live performances are not currently a focus, WOTHROSCH continues to craft profound studio works that challenge and captivate listeners. Their dedication to exploring extreme art forms and their unyielding pursuit of creative freedom position them as a distinctive force within the metal scene.​
