Order of the Ebon Hand has been a formidable presence in the Greek black metal scene since their inception in 1994. Co-founded by Merkaal and Lethe, the band has remained true to the genre’s roots while expanding their sonic and thematic reach. Their 1995 demo offered a glimpse of the raw intensity that would define their full-length albums. The Mystic Path to the Netherworld (1997) was their debut, blending brutality with atmospheric melodies, establishing them as a force in Greek black metal. In 2005, XV: The Devil explored deeper esoteric and mythological themes, solidifying their standing in the scene. Their 2006 split Two Years Standing Proud in Valhalla… and the 2013 split Behold the Sign of a New Era / Generation of Vipers continued to demonstrate their evolution. VII: The Chariot (2019) brought a more melodic yet aggressive sound, showcasing their growth while staying true to their black metal roots. In 2024, the single Charybdis and Glasya Labolas teased their upcoming 2025 album, promising another dark and intense chapter in their ongoing legacy.
